The history of the Estate
First holiday camp in the Ain department
Pré-Jeantet was the first summer camp in the Ain department. Founded in 1933 and secular, it welcomed many children from the Rhône-Alpes region and beyond. For nearly 70 years, it was one of the holiday destinations of OLEM (Œuvre Laïque des Enfants à la Mer et à la Montagne – Secular Organization for Children at the Sea and in the Mountains), created by dedicated individuals such as Marius Besson and later Pépé Bellet to provide children from modest urban backgrounds with a beneficial outdoor holiday.
The colony had been inactive since 2002 (i.e., for more than 20 years) until its recent renovation.
2025: We welcome you to the new version of Pré-Jeantet
The refectory transformed into a reception hall
The dormitories have been transformed into comfortable houses (3-star tourist accommodation).
The unspoiled environment where hundreds of children have lived their most beautiful memories.
Following in the footsteps of Georges Blanc
It was in this haven of peace that the famous chef Georges Blanc spent part of his childhood. Happy memories that undoubtedly influenced his culinary vocation.
Imagine yourself strolling through the grounds, where young Georges once ran, your taste buds already awakened by the flavors of Bresse. Let yourself be transported by the peaceful atmosphere of the place and imagine the laughter and games of children that once echoed within these walls.
Some say that today, the spirit of Georges Blanc still hovers over the estate, infusing weddings with a touch of gastronomy and refinement.
